In Punjab and Haryana, the Meteorological Department has again issued a red alert for fog and cold wave. There was fog in many districts in the morning on Sunday. Visibility in most of the districts was less than 50 meters in the morning.
Weather will be cold in 15 districts
Weather will remain cold in 15 districts of Punjab. Red fog alert has been issued in Gurdaspur, Amritsar, Tarn Taran, Kapurthala, Nawanshahr, Jalandhar, Muktsar, Moga, Bathinda, Ludhiana, Barnala, Mansa, Sangrur, Fatehgarh Sahib and Patiala. There is a possibility of fog and cold in the morning across the state.
Red alert in 11 districts of Haryana
Red alert has been issued in 11 districts of Haryana. Dense fog-cold wave warning has been issued in Ambala, Kurukshetra, Kaithal, Karnal, Mahendragarh, Rewari, Jhajjar, Gurugram, Mewat, Palwal, Faridabad. At the same time, fog is being seen in the plains of Himachal Pradesh. There is fog alert in Mandi, Bilaspur, Hamirpur, Una, Kangra, Sirmaur and Solan.
These districts of Punjab were the coldest
The maximum temperature was recorded at nine degrees in Chandigarh, Amritsar, Mohali and Rupnagar, while the day temperature was recorded at ten degrees Celsius in Patiala, Faridkot, Fatehgarh Sahib, Ferozepur and Moga. Along with this, the day temperature in these districts was seven to eight degrees Celsius lower than normal, while the night temperature was one to two degrees Celsius higher.
No hope of relief for 5 days
There is no respite from cold and fog in Chandigarh. The minimum temperature of the city was recorded at 5.2 degrees Celsius on Sunday. The Meteorological Department has issued a warning of dense fog for the next 4 to 5 days. Along with this, there is less possibility of getting relief from the severe cold.
