A red alert has been issued in all the districts of Punjab to stop the burning of stubble. Special DGP (Law and Order) Arpit Shukla has been appointed to maintain the directions of the Supreme Court. In Punjab, stubble burning has gone up to more than 30 thousand in the last two months.
Arpit Shukla said that a red alert has been issued in all the districts of the state and if any case of stubble burning comes to light, strict legal action will be taken against it. DGP Punjab Gaurav Yadav has appointed Special DGP Arpit Shukla as police nodal officer to monitor the action against stubble burning.
Crossed the figure of 30 thousand in 2 months
In the last two months, incidents of stubble burning in Punjab have crossed the 30,000 mark, while on Wednesday (November 15), 2,544 fresh incidents of stubble burning were recorded in the state.
2 thousand stubble-burning cases in a day
On Wednesday (November 15), 2,544 incidents of stubble burning were recorded in Punjab, taking the total to 30,661 cases since September 15. The 24-hour average air quality index (AQI) in Delhi was recorded at 401 at 4 pm.
