A major theft took place in a jewellery shop in Sarafa Bazar, Ludhiana. The thug found an opportunity and fled after stealing jewellery worth lakhs of rupees. The entire incident has been recorded in the CCTV camera installed in the shop. When the shopkeeper Naseem saw the jewellery boxes lying open, he immediately informed the police. The police is now conducting raids at various places to catch the thug.
Theft done with planning
The accused kept a close watch on the shop for two days. The CCTV footage showed that the accused comes to the room through the roof in the morning. He first breaks the lock of a drawer and puts the gold kept in it in an envelope. Then he takes out the keys of the other drawers and steals the gold from there as well. SHO Daljit Singh of Thana Division Number 4 said that a case has been registered. The search for the accused is on and he will be caught soon.
He came to the shop on the pretext of learning work
The shopkeeper said that he is originally from Calcutta and works here making gold jewellery. A few days ago, his friend Sahib said on the phone that a craftsman is looking for work and he will send him. On Sunday, a young man came to the shop asking for work. When asked his name, he told himself as Abir. Naseem asked if Sahib had sent him, he said 'yes'. Then Naseem hired him.
Gold stolen by breaking the lock
After this, Naseem got busy with his work. In the morning, when the craftsmen went to work, they saw that the lock of one of the drawers of the shop was broken and the rest of the drawers were also open. About half a kilogram of gold had been stolen from the shop. It was the gold of the customers who had come to get jewelry made. Naseem was immediately informed about this. After this, the shop owner informed the police about the incident.
