The heat has increased once again in Punjab. The temperature is continuously increasing. The temperature has increased by an average of 1.5 degrees for the second consecutive day. Due to which the Meteorological Department has issued a heat wave alert in 13 districts today. The maximum temperature recorded in Faridkot was 43.7 degrees on Sunday evening. People are going to get relief from the heat from June 26.
According to the Meteorological Department, the weather is going to change in Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh. There may be light rain in many areas from tomorrow evening. Apart from this, rain has been predicted on 26th and 27th June. Monsoon is going to be active in Punjab also from June 28. Therefore, cold weather will persist in Punjab for the next few weeks. There is a possibility of light to moderate rain in Bihar, Jharkhand and Odisha during the next four days.
Pre-monsoon rain in Delhi
Before the arrival of monsoon in the capital Delhi, the rain has provided relief from the scorching heat. The Meteorological Department has predicted rain with thunderstorms in Delhi on Monday and Tuesday also. The south-west monsoon has reached more than half of the country. There was light rain in some areas of Delhi on Sunday and the sky remained cloudy throughout the day. Due to this the temperature dropped below 40 degrees. The maximum temperature in Delhi was recorded at 39.8 degrees and the minimum at 29.6 degrees.
Weather condition of other states
According to Skymet Weather, there is a possibility of heavy rain over coastal Karnataka and Kerala during the next 24 hours. Some heavy rains with light to moderate rain may occur over Konkan and Goa, South Gujarat, Bihar and East Uttar Pradesh, Sikkim, Lakshadweep and Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
