A massive fire broke out in an illegal firecracker factory in Sonipat, Haryana. During this, 3 people have died. The fire brigade team reached the spot and controlled the fire. So far 3 bodies have been recovered. One of these bodies is of a woman from the village, while the second is of a child, the third is of another woman. Five-six other people were badly burnt in the accident. All of them have been taken to PGI Rohtak in a burnt condition.
Cracks in the walls of the houses
People came to know about the accident after a loud explosion in the factory. This blast caused cracks in the walls of the adjoining houses. The factory in which firecrackers were being made also collapsed and the workers working there were buried under the debris. According to the information, 10-12 workers were working here.
According to the information, the fire was caused due to leakage in the gas cylinder. The house is in the middle of the village and the process of removing its debris is going on. There was chaos in the village after the fire broke out. Police have taken the house owner Vedprakash into custody. They are also trying to find out by interrogating him how long the work of making firecrackers was going on here.
Factory owner's daughter also among the injured
Farman (26), wife Yasmin (23), Ekra (22), Sidra (18), Asra (21), Ashi (28) and Anjali (27) are among the injured. Injured Anjali is said to be the house owner's daughter. Police is investigating the matter.
Owner taken into custody
Police ACP Jeet Beniwal said that we had received information that there was an explosion in a house in village Ridhau. When the police reached the spot, sulfur was found here, which is used in firecrackers. After which the house owner Vedprakash has been taken into custody. Interrogation is going on about how long firecrackers were being made here. The debris lying on the spot is being removed.
