The maximum temperature in the state has increased by 4.3 degrees Celsius. However, it is 4.1 degrees Celsius above normal. The highest temperature in the state was recorded at 29.4 degrees Celsius in Abohar. According to the Meteorological Department, the weather is likely to remain the same today, but after this the temperature will drop by about 3 degrees.
Meteorological Department issued Orange - Yellow Alert
While yesterday 1.8 mm rain was recorded in Pathankot, 1.7 in Gurdaspur, 0.7 in Amritsar and 1 mm in Hoshiarpur. It rained in Ludhiana, Patiala, Bathinda, SBS Nagar. Orange alert for rain has been issued today in Pathankot, Gurdaspur, Amritsar, Hoshiarpur, Kapurthala, Jalandhar, Nawanshahr, Rupnagar, SAS Nagar and Fatehgarh Sahib of Punjab. While yellow alert has been issued in Tarn Taran, Ferozepur, Faridkot, Moga, Ludhiana, Barnala, Sangrur, Patiala and Mansa.
