The weather is going to change once again in Punjab. According to the Meteorological Department, light rain may occur at some places today and tomorrow (March 20). Also, a yellow alert has been issued in view of the possibility of thunderstorms and lightning. This change is happening due to Western Disturbance, which is active as a cyclonic circulation around southeastern Iran.
Possibility of rain in these districts
According to the Meteorological Department, the temperature may increase further and it is likely to increase by three to four degrees Celsius. Today, rain is expected in some parts of Fazilka, Muktsar Sahib, Faridkot and Pathankot districts. However, this month so far, there has been 51% less rainfall than the average. By this time in March, 15.4 mm of rain falls, whereas this time only 7.6 mm of rain has been recorded.
No alert for Chandigarh
At the same time, the average maximum temperature of the state has increased by 1.1 degrees Celsius in the last 24 hours, bringing it close to normal levels. The highest temperature in the state was recorded in Bathinda at 30.9 degrees Celsius. There is no alert for Chandigarh today.
