India Meteorological Department (IMD) has given a big update regarding the weather. IMD said that the weather will remain pleasant in North India for the next four to five days. Heavy to very heavy rainfall may occur over northwest and northeast India. Monsoon has arrived in Punjab. It has been predicted to rain in Punjab for the next 4 days. There may be rain in the state till July 4.
This year there was only 25.6 mm of rain
According to IMD, the monsoon is expected to be better than normal, but if we talk about the month of June, Punjab received less than normal rainfall from June 1 to 29. Normally, Punjab receives 49.7 mm rainfall in these 29 days, but this year only 25.6 mm rainfall has occurred, which is 48 percent less than normal.
Orange alert in these 9 districts of Punjab
According to the Meteorological Department, Orange alert has been issued in 9 districts of Punjab, Mansa, Sangrur, Fatehgarh Sahib, Rupnagar, Patiala, SAS Nagar, Malerkotla, Pathankot, Hoshiarpur and Nawanshahr, while Yellow alert has been issued in all other districts. The Meteorological Department has predicted heavy rain in some areas of Punjab on Monday and Tuesday. In such a situation, people have been asked to be extremely careful.
Storm in these states
IMD has predicted very heavy rainfall at isolated places over Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Uttar Pradesh, East Rajasthan and West Madhya Pradesh during this period. In the Northeast, a cyclonic circulation over the northeastern part of Assam will cause light to moderate rain over West Bengal, Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura for the next five days.
Heavy rain alert in these 25 states today
According to IMD, there will be light to heavy rain across the country on Monday. An alert of heavy to very heavy rain has been issued for the next 5 days in 25 states of the country. This includes Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Himachal, Punjab, Haryana, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Delhi, Bihar, Jharkhand, southern states and northeastern states.
Monsoon weakened in Himachal
Monsoon has weakened as soon as it enters Himachal. Despite repeated orange alerts being issued for heavy rain in the state, it has rained at only a few places for the last three days. There has been 32 percent less rainfall than normal during the last one week and 49 percent less rainfall than normal in the entire month of June.
Damage to property worth Rs 58 lakh
After the entry of monsoon, till now monsoon has caused damage to government and private property worth Rs 58.83 lakh in the state. During this period, 13 people have died due to various reasons, while 26 people are injured and one person is missing.
Five people drowned in Bhushi Dam
On Sunday afternoon, five people of the same family were washed away in the waters of Bhushi Dam in Lonavala near Pune. These included a woman, a 13-year-old girl, two 6-year-old girls and a 4-year-old boy. Of these, the bodies of a woman and two children have been recovered.
