The wheels of the rear bogie of the goods train going from Ambala to Delhi derailed at Tarawadi railway station in Karnal. Due to which 10 containers of the goods train fell on the tracks. One of these containers collided with an OHE pole. Due to which the OHE line was broken and the railway track was disrupted. After receiving information about the accident, Karnal GRP and RPF teams reached the spot.
Containers fallen from a moving goods train
About 10 containers fell from a moving goods train near Tarawadi railway station in Haryana's Karnal on Tuesday morning. Many electric poles have been broken due to falling containers. Due to which the OHE line was broken and the railway track was disrupted. At the same time, railway officials have stopped trains running between Delhi and Amritsar.
After receiving the information, GRP and railway officials reached the spot. Containers are being removed from the track. There is also information that the rear wheels of the goods train have derailed. However, railway officials have not confirmed this. This incident is said to have happened around 5 in the morning. It is fortunate that there is no news of any casualty in this accident.
Rail traffic halted
It is estimated that it may take a long time to repair the track and railway power poles. Till then the rail service on this route will remain closed. After this train accident, the railway route from Chandigarh to Delhi and from Delhi to Chandigarh was disrupted.
