The havoc of cold is continuously increasing in Punjab. The Meteorological Department had not issued any alert regarding fog and cold wave in Punjab-Chandigarh. But fog has been looming over many districts of Punjab since Friday evening. After which the visibility in Amritsar and Pathankot reached zero from midnight. An alert of dense fog and storm has been issued in 12 districts of Punjab.
Flight traffic at Amritsar airport has been disrupted due to fog. Many flights have been canceled. The flight coming from Bangkok could not land in Amritsar and was diverted to Lucknow. A Malaysia Airlines plane was sent to Delhi.
So far 4 people have died due to cold
At the same time, cold has taken a terrible form in Jalandhar. Due to which not only animals and birds, but also humans are facing trouble. Yesterday a person died due to severe cold in Jalandhar. But the deceased has not been identified yet. Let us tell you that before this 3 people including a prisoner had died. The body of one of the deceased, a 50-year-old man, was recovered from Khanda Chowk near Gurdwara Dukhnivaran Sahib. The second death occurred in village Dhakdabba under Thana Pasiana. An undertrial prisoner of Patiala jail also died. He was admitted to Rajindra Hospital since December 31 after falling ill due to cold.
Clouds will rain in Punjab after Western Disturbance becomes active
According to the Meteorological Department, Western Disturbance is expected to become active tonight. Due to which there are chances of rain and storm in Punjab on 5-6 December. An alert of dense fog and storm has been issued in 12 districts of Punjab. The same conditions will be seen in Chandigarh as well. After which the night temperature may increase by 2-3 degrees and the maximum day temperature may decrease by 2 to 3 degrees.
