There is no good news for alcohol lovers. In fact, the Delhi government has declared five dry days in the first quarter of the financial year 2025-26 to keep liquor shops closed on important religious festivals including Ram Navami and Good Friday.
Liquor shops will not open on these 5 days
According to the order issued by the Excise Department, liquor shops in Delhi will remain closed on Ram Navami (April 6), Mahavir Jayanti (April 10), Good Friday (April 18), Buddha Purnima (May 12) and Eid-ul-Zuha (June 6). Strict action will be taken against those who open the shop.
Instructions to display orders outside shops
Excise Commissioner Sunny Singh said that as per the provisions of Rule 52 of the Delhi Excise Rules, 2010, dry days have been declared for liquor licensees. Licensees have also been instructed to display the order at a prominent place in their licensed premises.
