The impact of Haryana assembly elections is also being felt in Punjab. Keeping in view the assembly elections, liquor will not be sold in Patiala district for 3 days and there will be a dry day. This order has been given by Additional District Magistrate Isha Singal only within the radius of 8 km of Patiala adjoining Ambala district.
Dry day will remain for 3 days
According to the orders issued by the district administration, dry day has been declared from 6 pm on October 3 to 5 pm on October 5 in the 8 km radius of Patiala adjoining Ambala. Along with this, dry day will remain till the result is declared on 8 October 2024, the day of counting of votes.
Complete ban on drinking and serving alcohol
During this period, there will be a complete ban on closing liquor shops and storing liquor by individuals. There shall be a complete ban on the sale, use, consumption, serving, storing of alcohol or use of any intoxicating substance at any liquor shop (Indian and English), hotel, shop, restaurant, club, beer bar, premises where sale and consumption of alcohol is legally permitted or any other public place etc.
