If you want an instant passport, you can apply online and get a passport in just seven days, but the fee for this will be slightly higher. To apply, visit the passport service website passportindia.gov.in. Remember that before applying, make sure that the name and date of birth in your Aadhar card, PAN card, 10th mark sheet, and other documents are the same. After police verification, your passport will be sent to your address.
Register and create user ID
Register by clicking on New User and create a user ID and password. Login to the website with the created ID. Click on Apply for Fresh Passport or Re-issue Passport and fill the online form. Select new passport, re-issue, normal or instant, 36 pages or 60 pages. Fill all the information, such as name, father's name and address, correctly. Use birth certificate, Aadhaar card, voter ID, PAN card or 10th mark sheet.
Go and get the documents verified
After paying the fees online, schedule an appointment and select the nearest passport office. Take out the appointment slip; you will also receive an SMS on your mobile. Go to the passport office on the appointment date and get the documents verified. You can use Aadhaar card, voter ID, electricity bill, rent agreement, bank passbook with photo (with three months' entries), or ration card.
