Home Minister Amit Shah wrote that the Government of India has decided to celebrate June 25 every year as 'Constitution Murder Day'. This day will commemorate the immense contribution of all those who endured the inhuman pain of the Emergency of 1975.
Congress killed democracy by imposing emergency
He further wrote that on June 25, 1975, the then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi had murdered Indian democracy by imposing emergency in the country while exercising dictatorship. Lakhs of people were put in jail without any reason and the voice of the media was suppressed.
He further wrote that 'Constitution Murder Day' will work to protect democracy and keep alive the immortal flame of individual freedom within every Indian, so that no dictatorial mentality like Congress can repeat it in future.
