Voting is going on for 24 seats in 7 districts in the first phase of Jammu and Kashmir assembly elections today. 27% voting has been done from 7 am to 11 am. 23.27 lakh voters will participate in this phase. Let us tell you that voting will be done in 3 phases on 90 seats. Voting will be done in the second phase on 25 September and in the third phase on 1 October. The results will be declared on 8 October.
According to the report, the highest voting was 14.83% in Kishtwar, while the lowest 9.18% votes were cast in Pulwama. Voting will be done till 6 pm. More than 35 thousand displaced Kashmiri Pandits living in different states will also be able to vote. 24 special booths have been made for them in Delhi.
Home Minister Amit Shah said that the people of Jammu and Kashmir should vote against unemployment and terrorism. Congress President Kharge said - While casting the vote, definitely remember who made fun of making Jammu and Kashmir a UT from a state.

Elections being held after 10 years
Actually, assembly elections are being held in Jammu and Kashmir after 10 years. In the 2014 elections, PDP won the maximum 28 seats and BJP won 25 seats. Both the parties had formed the government together.
Talking about the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, National Conference was ahead on 11 seats, PDP 5, Congress 4 and BJP 3. In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Congress was ahead on 9, National Conference 6, PDP 4 and BJP 2 seats. In 2014, National Conference got lead on 11 seats, PDP on 5, Congress and BJP on three seats each
