2-day state mourning announced in Kerala
Two days of state mourning has been announced in the state after the accident. A holiday was declared today in schools and colleges in 12 districts. Kerala University has postponed all examinations scheduled for July 30 and 31. At the same time, the Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert in Wayanad and neighbouring districts, in which heavy to very heavy rain is expected on July 31 and August 1. Along with this, the weather department has predicted heavy rain for August 2 as well.
Rahul Gandhi-Priyanka Gandhi cancelled the tour
Rahul Gandhi's Wayanad tour has been postponed due to bad weather. He himself gave information about this matter on social media. He said that 'Priyanka and I were going to Wayanad to meet the families affected by the landslide and take stock of the situation. But due to continuous rain and adverse weather conditions we have been informed by the authorities that we will not be able to land. I want to assure the people of Wayanad that we will visit soon.
