Air strikes were carried out after the fall of the Assad government
The US military has been conducting operations against the Islamic State (ISIS) and al-Qaeda-linked groups in Syria. Earlier, the US Central Command carried out dozens of air strikes on ISIS targets after the fall of Bashar al-Assad's government last December. Giving information about the attack in December 2024, the Central Command said that air strikes have been carried out on more than 75 targets including ISIS leaders, operatives and camps.
The Central Command had said that the attacks were carried out so that the terrorist group could not take advantage of the end of the Assad regime. At that time, the US Army used B-52 bombers and F-15 in the air strike. However, it has not been told about the latest attack which aircraft were used in it.
