Courses from finance to technology closed
Centennial College in Toronto, Ontario has announced that it will stop new enrollments in 49 full-time programs for the 2025 summer and winter semesters as well as the 2026 semester. These include journalism, financial planning, technology foundation and other developing courses.
College and employees will be affected
These changes in the college will have a profound impact on students, college staff and other employees. However, the college said that 128 full-time programs are still available for new students and the programs that have been stopped in the future can be restarted.
Algonquin College to close in Perth
Algonquin College said it will close its college campus in Perth city in 2026. After the college's statement, Perth Mayor Judy Brown said the locals would suffer a lot. Sherdin College suspended 40 programs while Seneca College announced temporary closure of Markham Ontario. Mohawk College has decided to lay off 20 percent of its administrative staff and cancel 16 programs by 2025.
