The month of March has started and many such festivals including Holi come in this month. Due to which schools, colleges, banks and government offices remain closed. There are many holidays in March according to different states. So let us know how many holidays are going to be available in the month of March.
Holidays in banks
7 March: Chapchar Kut – All banks will remain closed in Mizoram.
8 March: Second Saturday of the month – All banks across the country will remain closed.
13 March: Holika Dahan and Attukal Pongal – All banks will remain closed in Uttarakhand, Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh and Kerala.
14 March: Rang Wali Holi – Banks across the country will remain closed except Tripura, Karnataka, Odisha, Tamil Nadu, Manipur, Kerala and Nagaland.
15 March: Holi and Yaoshang Festival – Banks in Tripura, Manipur, Odisha and Bihar will remain closed.
22 March: Fourth Saturday of the month – Holiday in all banks, all banks in Bihar will remain closed due to Bihar Day.
March 27: Shab-e-Qadr – All banks will remain closed in Jammu and Kashmir.
March 28: Jumat-ul-Vida – All banks will remain closed in Jammu and Kashmir.
March 31: Eid-ul-Fitr – All banks will remain closed across the country except Himachal Pradesh and Mizoram.
School and college holidays
March 13: Holika Dahan – Most schools in North India will remain closed.
March 14: Holi – Most schools and colleges remain closed on Holi. In some places, there is a holiday on March 15 as well.
March 28: Jamat-ul-Vida – Schools may remain closed in some states on the last Friday of Ramzan.
March 30: Gudi Padwa – This day is celebrated as New Year in South India and Maharashtra and many schools remain closed.
March 31: Eid-ul-Fitr – Depends on moon sighting, but most schools remain closed on this day.
Apart from this, some schools and colleges also have holidays on second and fourth Saturdays, depending on the policy of the institute.
