Punjab Civil Medical Services Association (PCMSA) has announced that today OPD will be open only from 11 am to 2 pm. This decision has been taken after the assurance of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann. Let us tell you that PCMSA has a meeting with the Punjab government today and if no solution is found, then big steps can be taken by the doctors regarding the strike.
Today is the third day of complete closure of OPD
It was decided to keep the OPD closed for the whole day today. Earlier the OPD was partially closed, but after not getting any written assurance from the Punjab government, PCMSA decided to intensify its protest and announced a complete closure of the OPD. Today is the third day of OPD closure.
No letter issued for assurance
After a meeting with the sub-committee, the doctors were assured that an official letter would be issued to meet their demands. But after not getting any official written assurance, the association kept the OPD closed for the whole day.
On the other hand, on Friday, the Punjab government also called experts of the Medical Education Department regarding the ongoing strike by 2500 doctors. Experts have been called for the management of OPD services in district and sub-divisional hospitals amid the strike.
Doctors have divided the strike into 3 phases
The first phase was from 9 to 11 September. During this, OPD services were closed from 8 am to 11 am. The second phase will be from 12th to 15th September. In which OPD services have been completely stopped. The third phase will be after 16th September. In this, doctors will clearly refuse to do OPD as well as medical legal.
These are the demands of the doctors
