More than 50 percent voting till 4 pm
During the voting throughout the day, incidents of fights and booth capturing kept coming to the fore. According to the Election Commission, more than 50 percent voting took place in the Panchayat elections till 4 pm. There are a total of 13,937 Panchayats in Punjab. Out of which voting was being held today for 25,588 Sarpanch posts and 80,598 Panch posts. 3798 Sarpanches have already been elected unanimously in the state. At the same time, 48861 Panchs have also been declared without voting.

The Supreme Court heard the petition to stop the Panchayat elections. In which the Chief Justice said that if he orders to stop the elections at this time, it can lead to anarchy.
During the Panchayat elections, two groups clashed in Moga's village Masitan. Bullets were fired in this clash. On hearing the sound of bullets, there was chaos among the people present there.
People from outside opened fire at the voting center in Patiala. After which stone pelting started there. 2 people were injured in the incident.A police personnel died during election duty in Barnala. The deceased has been identified as Senior Constable 53 K Lakha.
Elections were canceled in Pona and Dalla villages of Jagraon. Because as soon as the voting started, people started creating ruckus. Due to which a dispute arose. That is why elections were canceled in both the villages. After this, elections were cancelled in Athchak village also after uproar.
A teacher from Fazlika died during election duty in Jalandhar
Voting has been stopped in Mansa Khurd village of Mansa. The ballot paper was printed incorrectly. As soon as the matter came to light, it was brought to the notice of higher officials.
A bullet was fired outside the polling booth in Sohal Sain village of Tarn Taran district. One person was injured due to the bullet. There was a dispute between the people standing in the queue for voting.
