The National Investigation Team (NIA) is conducting early morning raids in Punjab and Haryana. The team has reached the house of Sukhwinder Kaur Khandi, the woman leader of Bharatiya Kisan Union Krantikari, in Sarabha Nagar of Rampura Phul town of Bathinda. So the team has reached Pankaj Tyagi's house in Sonipat, Haryana.
Enraged farmers blocked the road
Police personnel are deployed outside the house. But the reasons for the raid have not been known yet. Kisan Union Krantikari leaders got angry over the raid on Sukhwinder Kaur Khandi's house. Due to which they blocked the road and sat on strike. The union says that no one will be allowed to go out until the reason for the raid is made clear.
Sukhwinder Kaur is the state general secretary of the union. NIA teams reached her house early in the morning. No one was allowed to leave the house. Nor was anyone being allowed to make phone calls etc. District head of Kisan Union, Purushottam Maharaj said that there is also an 85 year old elderly person in the house.
Communist leader detained
At the same time, the team reached the house of communist leader Pankaj Tyagi in Vardhman Gardenia Tower Raipur in Sonipat, Haryana. Here the team seized some important documents and phones from the house and took Pankaj Tyagi into custody.
