Jalandhar Rural Police has exposed an international network supplying illegal weapons in Punjab. Police arrested 4 members of the notorious Jaggu Bhagwanpuria gang on Jalandhar-Batala Highway and recovered a huge cache of weapons and vehicles from them. Those arrested have been identified as Asrat Kanth alias Sabi, Kamalpreet Singh alias Komal Bajwa, Pradeep Kumar alias Gora and Gurmeet Raj alias Juneja. Police teams have recovered 4 weapons including one Chinese 7.65 mm Glock, two .30 bore pistols with four live cartridges and 3 magazines from both their vehicles.
Weapons were supplied
DGP Gaurav Yadav said that during interrogation, gang leader Asrat Kanth alias Sabi admitted that the seized weapons were supplied by Jaggu Bhagwanpuria gang henchman Aman alias Anda, who currently resides in Germany. The weapons were supplied through Sanju alias Sahil Kumar, a resident of Batala, who is currently in jail. All of them are accused in several criminal cases including attempt to murder, possession of illegal weapons and gang-related violence in various districts of Punjab.
