Big news is coming from Amritsar district of Punjab. The city's counter intelligence team has succeeded in arresting a member of an illegal arms smuggling gang through an intelligence operation. Police have arrested Gurbaj Singh, associated with the Jaggu Bhagwanpuria gang. Police have recovered six .32 bore pistols and ten cartridges from the accused.
Investigation revealed that these weapons were smuggled from Madhya Pradesh to Punjab for criminal activities. It is suspected that these weapons were to be used in gang wars, contract killings and other illegal activities.
The arrested accused Gurbaj Singh is an active member of the notorious criminal Jaggu Bhagwanpuria gang, which has been involved in crimes like murder, robbery and extortion in Punjab and adjoining states. Many cases have been registered against this gang earlier and this gang is often found to be associated with the supply of illegal weapons.
