The Indian Navy is going to induct its third nuclear submarine INS Aridaman by the end of this year. India is going to do this at a time when the Pakistani Navy is rapidly increasing its military strength with the help of China. The Pakistani Navy is also inducting submarines.
Will be inducted this year
After the South China Sea, the arms race is now intensifying in the Indian Ocean as well. Amid the growing presence of the Chinese Navy, India is now going to induct its third nuclear-powered submarine. It is being told that this Indian nuclear submarine will be inducted by the end of this year. This killer submarine is being inducted into the Indian Navy at a time when the Pakistan Navy is modernizing and increasing its strength very rapidly with the help of China and Turkey. The Indian Navy currently has two nuclear-powered submarines INS Arihant and INS Arighat. The third nuclear submarine INS Aridaman has been undergoing trials for the last 3 years and it will be inducted into the Navy by this year.
China's PLA, which has become the world's largest navy, is spending money lavishly to increase its submarine strength. The Chinese Navy currently has 6 nuclear-powered submarines, 6 attack nuclear submarines and 48 diesel-powered conventional submarines equipped with AIP technology. A submarine equipped with AIP can stay underwater for several days. Even after China's old submarines retire, its submarine strength will remain at 65 by 2025. China is continuously building submarines and it will increase to 80 by 2035.
India lags behind China and Pakistan
While China is rapidly increasing its submarine strength, India's first attack nuclear submarine will join the Navy by 2036 and the second by 2038. Recently 6 Kalvari class conventional submarines have been inducted into the Indian Navy. India is now talking to France to add 3 more Kalvari class submarines. India's Kalvari submarines are not equipped with AIP technology due to which they cannot stay in water for long. Now India will install AIP technology in these submarines during refit.
After being equipped with AIP technology, these submarines will be able to stay underwater for about 3 weeks. Talks are also going on between India and Germany for 6 ultra-modern submarines. These submarines will also have AIP technology. Many analysts say that technical talks will be completed by this year and India can get the first submarine only after 2030. While India is lagging behind, the Pakistani Navy is modernizing on a very large scale.
Pakistan buys dangerous Chinese hunter
30 ultra-modern warships will be included in the Pakistani Navy with the help of China. Pakistan is including 8 submarines of Hangor class from China. This Chinese submarine will be equipped with AIP technology. Pakistan hopes that this submarine can change the balance of power in the Indian Ocean. Pakistan's first such submarine was launched in April 2024 and its trial is going on. At the same time, India still seems to be lagging behind.
