Today, rice traders held a press conference regarding paddy. They have made serious allegations in this press conference. Rice mill traders say that the officers are benefiting some rice millers. Similarly, now they have also written a letter to the Center to change the national policy. By writing a letter, they have made a recommendation to the Center.
Warning of protest
In this matter, now the rice millers have also given a warning of protest. Rice mill traders have said that in the last few days they have faced a lot of trouble due to the purchase of paddy. Some people took their paddy in the name of the farmers and told them that the paddy of Gurdaspur was lifted and brought to Kapurthala and the paddy of Kapurthala was lifted and sent to another district. In such a situation, rice mill traders have alleged that due to all this, the government has suffered a lot. The traders say that some rice mill traders have also been empowered by the officers.
Want to change the rice policy
They say that the officers had made the traders store more paddy, so after this, now those officers want that the distribution of storage rice policy should be changed. For this, they have also written a letter to the Center on December 5 to change this policy. In this letter, they said that the policy should be implemented because due to this some people want to benefit the officers.
If the policy is implemented, we will protest
On the other hand, the rice mill traders say that if this policy is implemented, then they will protest at the state as well as central level. Such people will not be given benefit by the officers. They say that if the grain of the farmers has been lifted, then during the spoiling of this paddy, the farmers have also been looted by some middlemen and rice millers. Due to this, they want to change this policy. Punjab has suffered a lot due to the farmers who have been protesting for the last 2 years. In 4 states, the rate for farmers has been fixed at Rs 3100, while the farmers of Punjab have also suffered a cut of Rs 200 due to this. They say that we feel that Punjab has suffered a lot due to the work of the farmer organizations and now the farmers of Punjab will also suffer.
It is important for the farmers to unite
Their issue today is of legal guarantee. They say that wheat and paddy are being sold well in Punjab and Haryana, but is the purchase of paddy here decreasing, while the purchase of paddy is good in other states. This will reduce paddy in Punjab, but on the other hand the Center has increased the MSP in other states. Farmers were already saying that we should get MSP for the whole of India. For this, all the farmers will have to unite. The Center and the farmers should sit and talk about the demands.
However, after all this, he has also demanded an inquiry in the matter of purchasing paddy by transporting it from one district to another. He said that for the first time in Punjab, the administration has demanded change in a national policy.
