Government has not given any money for 4 years
IMA says that the government has not given money to hospitals under Ayushman and Chirayu Yojana for the last 4 years. Due to which the government owes Rs 300 crore under both the schemes. What is Ayushman and Chirayu Yojana?
Ayushman Bharat is a scheme of the Central Government. It was launched on 23 September 2018. The objective of the scheme was to provide health insurance to economically weaker people. Under this scheme, cashless insurance up to Rs 5 lakh is provided. Ayushman card holders can get free treatment in government as well as some private hospitals across the country. That is why private hospitals are opposing it.
