The Punjab government keeps giving new gifts to the people every day. Now recently a big announcement has been made by the state's public transport undertaking Pepsu Road Transport Corporation (PRTC). PRTC is going to establish its first sub-depot in village Daula of Gidderbaha with the aim of expanding and improving its infrastructure. Along with this, an important milestone will also be established.
The project will start on January 31
The Transport Minister himself has given information about this. Minister Laljit Singh Bhullar said that this project costing Rs 3.36 crore will be fully started by January 31. This project will not only fulfill the infrastructure needs but will also be a solution to the long-standing demand of the local people. Bhullar said that apart from this, the old bus stand of Patiala has also been redeveloped. With this, bus services have started in Cheeka, Samana, Nabha, Rajpura, Ghanour and Pehavo as well as in all the towns falling within the radius of 30 km. The department is also going to expand its fleet and employment opportunities will also be created among the people through the kilometer scheme.
85 new buses will be included
A total of 85 new buses will be included in the department and Letters of Intent have also been issued to 81 people. He said that by creating more self-employment opportunities, the commitment of the state government to provide employment has been realized while strengthening the local entrepreneurs. At the same time, the PRTC is also going to finalize the solar plant project. Under this special project, solar-equipped facilities will be available in all the headquarters depots and bus stands. With the proposed 775 kW solar project costing Rs 2.87 crore, PRTC will also save electricity worth Rs 97 lakh in a year. The estimated period for returning the amount of this project will also now be less than 3 years.
