Now soon a good news will be announced for the employees working in the bank. For a long time, the employee organization Indian Banking Association (IBA) and United Forum of Bank Unions (UFBU) have been demanding 5 days work in banks. Now this proposal has also been supported by the employees and bank unions and now this decision is only awaiting the final approval of the government.
5 days work will be implemented from December
Now it is also expected that by December 2024, banks will now work for 5 days. Due to this change, banks will open only from Monday to Friday and will be closed on Saturday-Sunday. This will also give bank employees more rest and time to spend with family.
Agreement was reached last year
Let us tell you that in December 2023 last year, an agreement was also reached between IBA and employee unions. Both private and government banks were included in this agreement. After this, on March 8, 2024, IBA and All India Bank Officers Confederation also signed a joint note, but it has not yet received formal approval from the government.
Role of RBI
The approval of the Reserve Bank of India is very important regarding the operation and time table of the banking system, however, this proposal will be taken forward only after detailed discussions with the RBI for the final approval of the government.
