The heat has started increasing in Punjab, meanwhile the Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert in Punjab today. During this, there is a possibility of rain today and tomorrow. Yesterday's average maximum temperature increased by 1.2 degrees Celsius, which was recorded 4.4 degrees Celsius above normal. Bathinda recorded the highest temperature of 35.8 degrees Celsius, which is much higher than the average temperature of this season.
Yellow alert issued regarding rain
The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert regarding rain in Pathankot, Gurdaspur, Amritsar and Hoshiarpur districts adjoining Himachal Pradesh. Along with rain, strong winds are also expected here, but after Thursday, the weather has become dry once again from Friday.
According to the Meteorological Department, there may be a slight increase in temperature today, but there is a possibility of a drop of 2 to 4 degrees from Thursday. Apart from Punjab, there is a possibility of rain in Himachal Pradesh as well, which may also affect the temperature of Punjab.
Farmers warned to be cautious
The Meteorological Department has especially instructed farmers and those working in open areas to be cautious. Given the threat of strong winds and storms, standing crops may be damaged. Additionally, it has been advised to avoid working in open areas and fields during rain due to the possibility of lightning.
