Due to rising pollution, the Delhi government has completely banned the entry of Punjab Roadways' BS-6 model Volvo buses till December 14. If anyone takes a bus to Delhi, he will be fined up to Rs 20,000. In fact, after banning the entry of diesel vehicles below BS-6 standards from Punjab to the National Capital Territory (NCT) of Delhi, it has now temporarily suspended its Volvo bus services to Delhi Airport.
Due to this, many passengers are facing inconvenience, especially those who depend on Volvo buses for a comfortable and direct route to the airport. The General Manager of Ludhiana Depot of Punjab Roadways told the media that the reason for suspending Volvo bus services is that old BS-4 model buses are no longer allowed to enter Delhi till December 14. He further said that ordinary buses of Punjab Roadways will not be affected by this ban and will continue to run normally. Apart from this, Volvo and general bus services of PRTC have also been exempted from the ban.
