Vinesh disqualified due to excess weight

Vinesh came to know about this only on Tuesday night. She spent the whole night trying everything possible to lose weight, including jogging, skipping and cycling. The Indian delegation demanded that Vinesh be given some more time, but their demand was not heard.

Had to compete with American wrestler in the final

Vinesh earlier fought in the 53kg weight category. This is the first time that she is competing in 50 kg. Vinesh was to have a final match with American wrestler Sarah Ann Hilderbrandt for the gold medal on Wednesday night at around 10 pm.
