However, Maruti Suzuki Swift proved to be a laggard in sales abroad. Maruti Suzuki Swift sold a total of 2,03,500 units of the car in the year 2023. Maruti Suzuki Swift, the largest car seller in India, exported only 1,878 units of cars in December 2023.
Swift has got a bad rating for safety
Let us tell you that Maruti Suzuki Swift had exported a total of 2,750 units of the car in December 2022. If seen on annual basis, there has been a decline of 31.71% in the exports of Maruti Swift. Whereas Maruti Suzuki Baleno reached the top last month by exporting 6,817 units of the car.A major reason for the decline in sales of Maruti Swift abroad is its safety rating. Facelift version of Swift will be launched soon
If we talk about powertrain, Maruti Suzuki Swift has a 1.2 liter K-series dual-jet dual VVT petrol engine which generates maximum power of 89.7bhp and peak torque of 113Nm. The Swift's engine can be mated to 5-speed MT and 5-speed AMT. Apart from this, customers also get the option of CNG with 5-speed MT.
