What will happen this time on the thirteen seats of Punjab in the Lok Sabha elections 2024? The voters here have often surprised with their decisions. Punjabis do not lag behind in going against the state government. When there was Modi wave in the entire country, AAP had performed tremendously here.
In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Congress got 8 out of 13 seats in Punjab. At the same time, the alliance of Akali Dal-BJP got 2-2 i.e. a total of 4 seats. Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) was reduced to one seat. Only Bhagwant Mann could win from Sangrur seat.
In 2014, despite the Modi wave, AAP surprised the entire country by performing brilliantly in Punjab. Then the party had won 4 seats. However, in 2014 also, the voters of Punjab gave 6 seats to the Akali Dal-BJP alliance government. Congress got only 3 seats. Whereas earlier in the 2009 Lok Sabha elections, there was Akali Dal-BJP alliance government, but then Congress had got maximum 8 seats, Akali Dal 4 and BJP 1 seat.
If Akali-BJP fight separately then there will be an all-round fight
This time the contest will be triangular and if there is no Akali-BJP alliance then it can be all-round. In such a situation, it is difficult to say whose head will be victorious. Opinion polls so far are showing mixed results. Because elections in Punjab are in the later phase, it is too early to say anything about Punjab.
