Punjab Petrol Pump Dealers Association has postponed its strike announced on February 22 for the time being. It has been withdrawn for the time being due to the meeting to be held on 22nd with the top officials of the three major petroleum companies Indian Oil, Hindustan Petroleum and Bharat Petroleum Company.
Let us tell you that the Petrol Pump Association had called for a strike due to non-increase in dealer commission. It was made clear by the leaders that the commission of dealers has not been increased for the last 7 years, due to which they have taken this tough decision.
The association decided that if no meaningful solution was found on 22nd, then there would be a strike on 29th February. Giving information related to the matter, Punjab President of the Association, Paramjeet Singh Doaba said that the top officials of the petroleum companies have assured that big relief can be given to the petrol pump dealers in the meeting to be held in Mumbai on February 22.
Petrol pump owners say that everyone's income has increased with time but neither the government nor the petroleum companies have ever paid attention to the dealers. Even today his commission is running the same as before. Their main demand is that their commission should be increased. There has been a demand to implement 5 percent commission or the recommendations of the Apoorva Chandra Committee.
