Spices of 16 companies including Goldi, Ashok, Bhola are not worth eating. Samples of spices from these companies have failed the test. These spices have been checked by UP Food Safety and Drug Administration (FSDA). After which FSDA says that the company's spices are not edible.
Raid on different spice companies
Actually FSDA raided 16 different companies in Kanpur this year. In which 35 types of spices were sent for testing. Out of which 23 reports have now come out. Pesticides and insecticides were found to be high in spices. Insects are also found.
The dangerous pesticide carbendazim was found
16 samples were found to contain dangerous pesticides and 7 samples were found to contain micro bacteria. For the first time, deadly bacteria have been found in spices in such large quantities. Also found is carbendazim, which is used for fungal control.
Send a notice to the companies and ask for a response
The food officer said that we had taken samples of 35 spices from different places. All were sent to the lab for testing. Now the food department has issued a notice to the owners of the companies whose samples of the spices have failed and asked for an answer.
