On the call of United Kisan Morcha, the date of 13 February was fixed for the Delhi Jantar Mantar protest. Regarding this, the Central Government held a meeting with the farmers a day earlier but it remained inconclusive.
Farmer leaders say that this is their second big movement in history in which thousands of farmers are marching towards Delhi. More than 700 farmers had died in 13 months during the agitation on the Singhu border and now the central government is making every possible effort to stop the farmers.
Police fired tear gas shells as soon as they crossed Ghaggar river
As soon as the farmers reached the Ghaggar river bridge and tried to remove the stone barricades, the police started throwing tear gas shells continuously and during this, many farmers crossed the Ghaggar river in some way and the military forces standing on the other side. The soldiers fired at them but the bullets were made of plastic.
Tear gas shells were thrown, lathicharge was also done
More than a dozen farmers have also been injured by tear gas. Who were taken to the hospital with the help of ambulance. Tear gas shells kept coming from the other side of the border continuously for about 2 hours. But the farmers did not look back and went near the military force and started raising slogans. Along with this, lathicharge was also done on the farmers by the force.
Farmers threw barricades
Farmers' trolleys are visible on the highway from Shambhu border to Rajpura. There is a long convoy of farmers for 5 kilometres. At the same time, the barricades and nails installed by the Haryana government on behalf of the farmers have been uprooted and thrown away.
In this movement of farmers, orders were issued by the Haryana administration that under no circumstances should the farmers be allowed to cross the Ghaggar river.
