Schools and colleges will remain closed in Jalandhar on November 12, opening of meat and liquor shops will also be banned

In view of the Nagar Kirtan organized by various religious organizations on the birth anniversary of Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji in Jalandhar, important orders have been issued by the DC of Jalandhar. DC Himanshu Aggarwal has ordered the closure of all types of liquor and meat shops on the Nagar Kirtan route.

Ban on sale of liquor and meat

Also DC Aggarwal said that keeping in mind the religious sentiments of the people and to maintain law and order situation, this decision has been taken under Section 163 of the Indian Civil Security Code 2023. Due to which the sale of liquor and meat is being banned near the Nagar Kirtan route and the place of religious ceremony in Jalandhar on 12 November 2024.

Announcement of half day holiday in schools

At the same time, keeping in mind the convenience and safety of the students of schools / colleges on November 12 in connection with the Prakash Parv of Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, a half day holiday has been announced in all government and non-government schools and colleges in the Jalandhar Municipal Corporation limits on November 12, 2024 in the afternoon.
