Sacked Sub Inspector Naveen Phogat has surrendered in the case of robbery of crores of rupees from a Bathinda businessman. He was absconding for the last 4 months and the police was searching for him. After surrendering, the police have taken him on remand for 3 days and he will be presented in the court on November 27.
Accused of robbing a businessman with the help of police colleagues
Naveen Phogat has been accused of kidnapping a Bathinda businessman along with fellow policemen and robbing him of Rs 1 crore. When he committed this incident, he was posted as Additional SHO in Sector 39, Chandigarh.
Accused SI Naveen Phogat and his fellow policemen Varinder and Shiv Kumar looted Rs 1 crore from Bathinda businessman Sanjay Goyal in the name of exchanging Rs 2,000 notes. The policemen kidnapped Sanjay Goyal and took him to a deserted place and then threatened to ruin his life by implicating him in an encounter and drug case.
Chandigarh Police has registered a case against 3 policemen
Along with this, Chandigarh Police had registered a case of robbery of Rs 1 crore against Praveen Shah along with two policemen, immigration company's servants Kaushal, Gill, Jitendra.
