One billion rupees will be spent for the renovation and beautification of temples and Gurudwaras in Pakistan : The Pakistan government has prepared a master plan. One billion Pakistani rupees will be spent for the renovation and beautification of temples and Gurudwaras in the country. This decision was taken here in a meeting of the 'Evacuee Trust Property Board' on Saturday under the chairmanship of its chief Syed Ataur Rahman. Members of Hindu and Sikh communities from across the country as well as government and non-government members participated in the meeting.
A lot of money is being spent
Rahman said, 'Under the master plan, temples and gurudwaras will be renovated and decorated and development work will be done with a budget of one billion Pakistani rupees.' A lot of money is being spent on the care of the places of worship of minorities. Rahman also said that the ETPB has received revenue of more than one billion rupees this year.
Increasing income is the main objective
Board Secretary Farid Iqbal, who was speaking about the need for amendment in the ETPB development plan, told the members that after making changes in the plan with the aim of increasing the income of the department, now the properties of the trust are being presented for development.
Revenue will increase manifold
He said, 'By giving such lands, which have not been used for a long time, for development, the revenue of the department will increase manifold.' It was also decided in the meeting to appoint a project director for development and renovation works in various temples and gurudwaras and operational works in 'Project Management Unit Kartarpur Corridor'.
