The Bagmati Express collided with a freight train near Chennai on Friday evening, after which the train caught fire. The incident took place near Kavaraipettai railway station. According to the information, 19 people were injured in this accident, who have been rushed to the hospital. There were a total of 1360 passengers in the train.
The train was running at a speed of 75 KM
Railway officials said that an express train running at a speed of 75 kmph in Tamil Nadu on Friday entered the loop line instead of going to the main line and collided with a parked freight train. Due to which many passengers were injured and a coach caught fire.
Chief Minister MK Stalin expressed grief over the incident and said that he is monitoring the rescue and relief operations. He said, the government is engaged in rapid relief and rescue work.

Train number 12077 Dr. MGR Chennai Central – Vijayawada Jan Shatabdi Express, which was scheduled to leave on 12 October 2024 at 07.25 hrs, has been canceled.
Train number 12078 Vijayawada – Dr. MGR Chennai Central Jan Shatabdi Express, which was scheduled to leave on 12 October 2024 at 15.30 hrs, this train has also been canceled.

-Train number 13351 Dhanbad-Alappuzha left Dhanbad on October 10 at 11.35 am, it has been diverted to run via Renigunta-Melpakkam-Katpadi, stopping at Naidupeta, Sullurupeta, Dr. MGR Chennai Central and Arakkonam.
Train number 02122 Jabalpur-Madurai Superfast Special left Jabalpur on October 10 at 4.25 pm, now the route will be changed and it will run via Renigunta, Melpakkam-Chengalpattu. This train will not stop at Chennai Egmore and Tambaram.
-Train number 12621 Dr. MGR Chennai Central-Tamil Nadu Express left at 10 pm on Friday, now its route has been changed to via Arakkonam-Renigunta via Vijayawada. -Train No. 18190 Ernakulam-Tatanagar Express left Ernakulam at 07.15 am on Friday, now its route has been changed to run via Melapalayam-Arakkonam-Renigunta.
-Train No. 12664 Tiruchirapalli-Howrah Superfast Express left Tiruchirapalli at 1.35 pm on Friday, it has been diverted to run via Melapalayam-Arakkonam-Renigunta.
-Train No. 07696 Ramanathapuram-Secunderabad Express Special left Ramanathapuram at 09.50 am on Friday, it has been diverted to run via Arakkonam-Renigunta.
-Train no. 06063 Coimbatore-Dhanbad Express Special left Coimbatore Junction at 11.50 am on Friday, will now be diverted and run via Melapalayam-Arakkonam-Renigunta.
