Today (15 February) is the third day of the farmers' march to Delhi. After the uproar at Shambhu border on Tuesday, the situation of tension continued on Wednesday also. Today there will be talks between farmer leaders and the Union Minister. Farmers will talk to the government regarding their demands. Till then the farmers have decided not to proceed further.
Meanwhile, farmer leader Sarwan Singh Pandher said – Center will have to listen to the voice, otherwise whatever happens will not be right. We have a meeting with Union Ministers today and we want PM Modi to talk to them so that we can reach a solution to our demands.
Movement until three demands are met
Sarwan Singh Pandher said that the movement will continue until the three demands are met. These demands are – legal guarantee of MSP, loan waiver and repeal of the Electricity Act. Along with this, Pandher also raised questions on the deployment of paramilitary forces on the state border, police action and use of drones. He said that if the farmers are protesting peacefully, then why is force being used.
25 thousand farmers are standing on Shambhu
About 25 thousand farmers are standing at the Shambhu border, the march has been stopped for the time being. Today, BKU Ekta Ugrahan has announced to stop trains in Punjab. Apart from this, about 34 groups of SKM have announced to make toll free from 11 am to 2 pm on 15th February.
Three Union Ministers will talk
Three Union ministers Piyush Goyal, Arjun Munda and Nityanand Rai will attend the meeting. Earlier this meeting was proposed only on Wednesday evening. In this the representatives of the center had to join online. But it was later scheduled for Thursday.
