Brits Desi Society (BDS) hosted a grand national-level commemoration of Char Sahibzade Shaheedi Diwas on 28 December 2024 at Utsav Banqueting Hall Leicester, UK. The event honoured the unparalleled bravery and sacrifice of the Char Sahibzade. The highlight of the event was the presence of Chief Guest Sant Swami Nalinananda Giri Ji Maharaj who had specially come from the USA on the special invitation of BDS President Shri Rishu Walia.
Tributes paid to Char Sahibzade
Swami Nalinananda, Police Chaplain deputed to Maryland by the White House, paid inspiring tributes to the Char Sahibzade. A presentation on bravery was also given in the event.

Apart from these, Resham Singh Sandhu, MBE, PBS, FRSA, President of Sikh Welfare and Cultural Society UK, Hemant Rai Bhatia, Councillor, Leicester City, Umesh Sharma, former Mayor of Ealing and President of Ram Mandir, Southall, London UK, Rajesh Patel, Trustee, Shri Hanuman Mandir, Salangpur Leicester, Mukesh Khurana, Member, Geeta Bhawan Mandir, Arun Thakur, President, National Council of Hindu Temples UK, Baba Sansar Singh, Shri Guru Ravidas Gurudwara, Harrison Road, Leicester, Nirmal Singh, Laddu Gurudwara Shri Guru Dashmesh Sahib, Gypsy Lane, Leicester and President of Leicester Kabaddi Club were present.
Chairman Shri Rishu Walia welcomed all the guests and also thanked everyone for their presence. He also announced plans for more social and community-focused programs in 2025 to strengthen the Indian community in the UK.
