In Ludhiana, the police has arrested a person who was extorting money from people wearing police uniform. When the police investigated the case, they found out that the accused was a fake sub-inspector and he used to extort money from people in the vegetable market by threatening them. Police have recovered police uniform, fake ID card and an Innova car from the accused. The accused has been identified as Anmol Sidhu.
Fake sub inspector caught by setting trap
ADGP 1JS Sandhu told that for the last few days we were getting information that a police officer is extorting money from people in Jodhewal vegetable market by threatening them. After this the police team set a trap to catch him. After setting the trap, he was caught red handed.
Claimed to be posted in Jalandhar
Police said that when the accused was caught, he revealed himself to be an employee of CIA of Jalandhar during investigation. When he was interrogated, he showed his ID card. But only his name was written in it and nothing else. Then we got suspicious and arrested him. There is no previous case registered against the accused.
