BJP has called for a 12-hour bandh in Bengal today over the rape-murder case of a trainee doctor in Kolkata. The BJP is protesting against the detention of student protesters who participated in the Nabanna march on August 27. During this, he had a clash with the police and then the police lathicharged him. Along with this, resorted to water cannons. BJP has announced a 12-hour bandh in West Bengal on August 28 in protest against the police action. Along with this, the resignation of state CM Mamata Banerjee has been demanded.
Many trains were stopped
BJP workers are on the streets in support of the West Bengal bandh. Meanwhile, workers led by BJP MLA Ashok Kirtaniya stopped the train at Bangaon station in North 24 Parganas. Police said that more than 200 people have been arrested across the state.
If employees take leave, salary will be deducted
Mamta government has said that there is no bandh and strict action will be taken against the government employees who do not reach office. A notification has also been issued for government employees. It said that no government employee will be given casual leave on August 28. Nor will anyone's leave be approved for the entire day. The employees who were on leave on August 27 will have to return to duty on August 28. If someone is on leave, one day's salary will be deducted.
