Trudeau said that he is resigning from the post of party leader and Prime Minister. The party will choose its next leader. Trudeau was being pressured by his Liberal Party MPs to resign. After his strongest team member, the Finance Minister, resigned from his post, the pressure to leave the post increased even more. Chrystia Freeland has been considered Trudeau's most influential and loyal minister. She resigned last month. Parliamentary elections are to be held in Canada this year, which may now be held before time.
24 MPs of Trudeau's party had publicly demanded his resignation in October. Anger against Trudeau is also increasing among the people in Canada.
