The employees of Jalandhar Municipal Corporation continued their ongoing strike for the second day regarding their demands. During this, the employees stopped their work and raised slogans against the corporation officials.
The corporation did not fulfil demands
Sunny Sahota of the Corporation Safai Mazdoor Union said that the Corporation Commissioner had assured yesterday that all the demands would be fulfilled by the evening. But even after the whole day has passed, not a single demand has been fulfilled by the corporation. Due to which we have been forced to stop work and go on strike for the second day also.
This condition of Jalandhar happened due to bureaucracy
While giving information on the matter he further said that the current condition of the city is due to the poor bureaucracy of the corporation. The corporation had earlier promised us to fulfill our demands and then now it is reneging. Due to which we were forced to take this decision. If they do not accept our demands, we will burn the effigy of the corporation tomorrow.
These are the main demands of the employees
Grade 4 employees should be posted on the post of Sanitary Supervisor, bill clerks of Health Branch who have been working at the same seat for a long time should be transferred, like officers and employees, salaries of Grade 4 employees should also be made online, health in the workshop.
Rotation wise duty of sanitary inspectors should be imposed to provide oil to the vehicles of the branch, DC rate should be given to the personnel working at JCB operator source, four employees should be appointed as drivers, verification of the log book running in the health branch.
The cleaning should be done by the inspector. These are the main demands of the employees
