Under the new visa law of the United Kingdom, there has been a ban on bringing family members of Indians living there to Britain. According to the new visa rules, Indians and foreigners working as care workers will no longer be able to bring their families here.
There will be a decline in the number of immigrants coming to Britain
The Home Ministry had already announced this law, which has come into effect from Monday (March 11). According to last year's figures, 100,000 workers in Britain worked on care visas along with 1,20,000 dependent members. It has been claimed that this step will drastically reduce the number of migrants coming to Britain and visa abuse can be dealt with.
Home Secretary James Cleverley said care workers make a vital contribution to our society by caring for our loved ones in their time of need. But we cannot remain silent when it comes to tackling the rampant abuse of visa rules, the manipulation of our immigration system, and the influx of immigrants. It is not appropriate to allow this situation to continue.
He said that we had promised to take action with the British people. We will not rest until we fulfill our commitment to reduce the numbers. Our plan is fair and strong to protect British workers. He said talents from the world can work and study here to add values to our society and grow the economy.
These changes in visa rules have come into effect. The government is preparing to present new rules in Parliament on Thursday. Care workers acting as sponsors for migrants must now register with the Care Quality Commission (CQC). The government says it will also crack down on exploitation and abuse of workers in the care sector.
