Cases of cheating and leaking of papers keep coming up in the country. But now the Madhya Pradesh (MP) government has taken strict steps to stop this. Now if the paper is leaked in MP, then that person can be sentenced to life imprisonment and fined Rs 1 crore. On the other hand, if someone is caught cheating, he will not be able to appear in the exam till next year. This rule is being brought to stop the case of paper leak and cheating.
Changes are being made in the old law
For strict punishment in the paper leak case, now the government is going to make a big change in the examination law made in 1937. The draft of the amended law has been prepared by the School Education Department. This draft has been sent to the Law Department for testing. After this it will be sent for cabinet approval. The government is trying to get this law passed in the assembly during the winter session and implemented.
The issue was heated up over NEET paper leak
Actually, the issue of NEET paper leak was heated in June this year. Only after this the state government had asked the School Education Department to prepare a draft to amend the law. The department had studied the law applicable in other states and placed the draft before the Senior Secretary Committee.
