The Punjab government has announced a holiday with pay on October 5, 2024. This decision has been taken in view of the assembly elections in the state of Haryana. This leave will not be deducted from the leave account of the officer / employee.
A spokesperson of the Punjab government said that if any officer / employee is included as a voter in the voter list of Haryana Legislative Assembly and is working in government offices / boards / corporations and government educational institutions of the state of Punjab, then he can take special leave on October 5 from the authority by showing his Voter ID.
People of Jammu and Kashmir will also get benefit
Similarly, in view of the assembly elections of Jammu and Kashmir, the Punjab government has announced a holiday with pay on September 25, 2024 and October 1, 2024 for the voters of Jammu and Kashmir (UT) working in Punjab. If any officer/employee is registered as a voter in the voter list of the Legislative Assembly of Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir and is working in Government offices/Boards/Organizations and Government Educational Institutions, then he/she can avail special leave on 25th September and 1st October from the authority by presenting his/her Voter Identification Card to cast his/her vote.
